Message from the President
December, 2006
Dear LATS Member colleagues:
We would like you to know about an important decision, taken by the LATS Executive Committee, regarding the new dead-line for abstract submission
According to a general agreement of all members of the Executive Committee, the new dead-line for abstract submission was extended until December, 29th, Fryday, 2006, the same dead-line day for the XII LATS Registration with lower prizes.
The IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS are:
1. The new dead-line for Abstract submission is December, 29th, 2006.
2. The dead-line for the XII LATS Meeting Registration with discount, is December, 29th, 2006
1. Scientific Program
The Scientific Program is already prompt. You will find in details all the 7 Conferences, 7 Symposia and 6 Special Topics, accessing the XII LATS Meeting website through LATS site www.lats.org, clicking on LATS XII Meeting or through http://www.sochem.cl/SLAT/slat.html Any other direct questions send an e-mail to lats2007@gmail.com
2. LATS Young Investigator Prize
Remember that candidates for the XII LATS MERCK YOUNG INVESTIGATOR PRIZE (MYIP) can not be in debt with the Society, otherwise their papers will not be submitted to it. The best oral presentations (Basic and Clinic) will be awarded with the MYIP and a grant of 2.000,00 USD each. Candidates must have less than 40 years, present their paper as first authors at the Meeting and the work must have been made in full in a country of Latin America. Beside the regular abstract sheet, candidates to the MYIP should send a three page summary of his (her) work (Letter Times New Roman; size 12; 1.5 interline; letter size sheet), without any identification (Name and Institution). The YIMP will be chosen among the 12 oral presentations (6 Basic and 6 Clinic). This summary should follow the rules of a regular paper submission, including Title, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion and Bibliography. The reason for this is to provide the Scientific Committee the best conditions to judge the methodology, originality and impact of the paper.
3. LATS Travel Grants
LATS is offering 30 Travel Grants (TG, 300.00 USD each) for LATS members. The conditions to apply for a TG are:

3. to present the work at the XII LATS Meeting, as first author;
