LATS colleagues
The
13th International Thyroid Congress (13th ITC) Meeting promises
to be a very special and important Meeting for all LATS members.
The 13th ITC Program Organizing Committee (POC) received a total
of 688 abstracts from all over the world. As announced in the last
e-mail-newsletter LATS is offering 50 travel grants (300.00 USD
each) for LATS members. The minimal conditions for applying for
a travel grant are:
1. to be a member of LATS (not in debt);
2. to be younger than 40 years;
3. to present the work at the 13th ITC, as first author;
N.B.: The work presented must have been done totally in Latin
America.
Attention: There is no need to send any document to
the LATS secretary at the moment. At the very beginning of the 13th
ITC, every travel grant candidate must look for the LATS booth,
and let the following documents with one of the staff members, (including
the secretaries Celia and Claudia).
1. A xerox of the abstract (oral or poster) as it appears at the
13th ITC Program;
2. An ID copy
3. A statement of the Institution of origin, stating your status
(professor, researcher, postgrad/grad student)
If necessary, a special committee chosen by the Executive Committee
will analyze the papers. At the end of all presentations, the special
committee will name the travel grant winners. The winners will receive
their travel grants at the LATS booth, at the end of the 13th ITC.
The winner of the LATS Young Investigator Prize, Basic and Clinic
(USD 1.000.00) is not competing for the travel grant.
LATS has noticed that many colleagues registered in the 13th ITC
as LATS member are still in debt with LATS dues, and so cannot use
the members privilege of a registration at lower values than non-LATS
members. We hope that these members pay their LATS dues as soon
as possible.
