Letter from the LATS President and Secretary-Treasurer, January 2005

 

Dear LATS Members:

 

          We  would  like  to  remind  you  that  the  nominations  for  the  LATS  Prize recipient will end on Monday, February 28, 2005.

          The LATS Prize recipient will give a conference during the 13th International Thyroid Congress, in Buenos Aires.

          Any   member   of   the   Latin-American   Thyroid   Society  who  has  made outstanding  contributions  to  thyroid  research  over  a considerable  period can  be nominated. According  to  the  LATS  Rules  (Sec.28-31, q.v.),  candidates  for  the LATS Prize  may be proposed and seconded by any two active members of LATS. The proposal should be sent to the Secretary-Treasurer, and  include the candidate's curriculum vitae (no more than 10 pages) and  a summary  (no more than 2 pages) of  the  candidate's  personal  contribution  to  thyroid   research   in   our   countries. Remember that the LATS Prize is an once-in-a-lifetime award.

          Regarding  the  2005  Membership  Dues,  we  would  like to remind you that payment  can  be  done  safely  on-line  (VISA,   AMEX,   Mastercard  or  Dinners) through our site www.lats.org  You just have to click on:

          For members who would like to update their  2004  fees,  we  are  proposing some  payment  facilities.  Please  contact  the Secretary-Treasurer  through  our site www.lats.org  or  directly   through   hansgraf@bsi.com.br  if   you   are   interested.

 

          For  important  news,  about  the  13th  ITC,  that  will  be  held  in  October- November  2005, in  Buenos Aires, Argentina, just enter our site and click on 13th INTERNATIONAL THYROID CONGRESS.  There, you will find informations about PPEP (Preferencial Plan for Early Payment),  a special registration price  that will  be offered to the first 500 members that register. PPEP will start March 1st and ends with registration number 500. So, don’t delay!
